This elusive plant, indigenous to the northern Carolinian forest, historically ranging from parts of the southeastern United States to southeastern Canada and is the only temperate tropical fruit tree in southwestern Ontario. Aromas of mango and banana give it a singular flavour profile for our cool climate cuisine.
