Originally built in 1925 by John Smallman, the son of Thomas Smallman a founding member of the Imperial Oil Company, Windermere Manor is a faithful reflection of classic Tudor architecture. Here, the Smallman family pursued their passion for breeding and racing horses. Even today, remnants of an old stone bridge that once formed part of a horse run that wound its way through the property, reminds guests of a by-gone era.

After extensive renovations on the existing Manor House, Windermere Manor opened its doors in 1991 as part of the Western University Discovery Park offering full meeting and conference facilities, food and beverage and hotel accommodations. More recent renovations and additions have created more meeting spaces and guest rooms while remaining faithful to the architectural style of the original design.

Today, Windermere Manor offers guests all the comforts and conveniences of a modern hotel and meeting facility, while still retaining much of its former grace and elegance. The baronial splendor of the Grand Hall with its soaring ceiling, hand-hewn beams, oak balcony and welcoming wood-burning stone fireplace serve as reminders of its grand and glorious past.
